Doctors profile

MUDr. Július Horňák completed his studies at the Medical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava in 2010 in the field of general medicine. After his studies, he began his pre-certification training in the field of gynaecology and obstetrics at the Gynaecological-Obstetrics Department of Snina Hospital. In 2016, he successfully passed the specialization examination (attestation) in the field of gynaecology and obstetrics at the Medical Faculty of the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava (1st Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Slovak Medical University and University Hospital in ​​Bratislava), and he then took up the position of Deputy Chief of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department of Snina Hospital. 

During his gynaecological and obstetric practice he has worked at several clinics and departments (1st Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava and the University Hospital in ​​Bratislava; Institute for the Care of Mother and Child in Prague-Podolí, Prague, Czech Republic; the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the 1st Medical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava; the General University Hospital, Apolinářská Street in Prague, Czech Republic, and Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic, University Hospital of Olomouc, Czech Republic) and completed many internships in the field of gynaecology and obstetrics. 

Jeho špecializáciou je skríning gynekologických ochorení, pôrodníckych patológií a onkogynekologická diagnostika. V roku 2023 úspešne zložil akreditačný skúšku pre certifikovanú pracovnú činnosť EXPERTNÁ KOLPOSKOPIA, čím veľkou mierou prispel k zaradeniu Centra fetálnej a gynekologickej diagnostiky do národného programu pre skríning rakoviny a ostatných patológií krčka maternice. Podrobne sa venuje aj mini-inzerčnej hysteroskopii a resektoskopii, kde osvedčenie pre túto špecializovanú ambulantnú starostlivosť získal na dvojkrokovom intenzívnom kurze u najpoprednejšieho českého špecialistu MUDr. Petra Kováře https://www.ambulantni-hysteroskopie.cz/.
